Womenswear label VERO MODA has rolled out a limited-edition capsule collection honouring 100 years since the birth of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe. The line, which is launching on the brand’s app today, brings together Monroe’s enduring visual identity with VERO MODA’s contemporary design language.
Nearly six decades after her death, Monroe continues to hold cultural weight as a symbol of glamour, self-possession and individuality. The new collection aims to reintroduce that legacy to a generation of shoppers who know her more through pop culture references than her film catalogue, reworking her image for present-day wardrobes rather than treating it as vintage nostalgia.
The range centres on statement dresses, graphic tees and sweatshirts carrying oversized portraits and pop-art-style renderings of Monroe. Design details include polka dots, pearl trims and rhinestone accents — motifs drawn directly from the glamour associated with her screen persona.
A denim capsule anchors the collection’s more directional pieces, pairing retro-style washes with ruffled detailing and updated cuts. The collaboration also stretches into accessories, with caps featuring Monroe’s signature and kiss-mark motif offering a lower-commitment way for shoppers to buy into the collaboration.
The collection is app-exclusive for the first 48 hours before expanding to the brand’s physical stores, its website, and Myntra. The approach mirrors a growing pattern among fashion retailers of using app-first drops to drive downloads and early engagement before a full retail release.
VERO MODA was founded in 1987 as the debut label of Danish fashion group BESTSELLER and has since become a major name in European high-street fashion. In India, the brand operates 75 exclusive outlets and more than 326 shop-in-shop counters, alongside its app, website and marketplace presence, positioning itself as a go-to destination for women’s western wear.
