British menswear label Ben Sherman has officially entered India’s physical retail space, opening four new stores across Surat, Indore, Lucknow, and Greater Noida.
The brand’s debut store opened at VR Surat, marking Ben Sherman’s first physical presence in the country. The launch is the result of a partnership between Marquee Brands, the American brand management company that owns Ben Sherman, and Apparel Group India Pvt. Ltd., a leading retail and fashion company operating in India. The Surat outlet stocks the label’s signature button-down shirts alongside outerwear, casual apparel, and accessories.
Founded in 1963 by Arthur Benjamin Sugarman, Ben Sherman first rose to prominence with its short-sleeved, button-down shirts, which became a staple among Britain’s stylish youth in the ’60s. Over the decades, the brand has expanded well beyond its shirt-making roots into a full menswear label spanning sweaters, suits, outerwear, shoes, and accessories. Worn by generations of musicians, artists, and cultural icons, Ben Sherman has come to represent more than fashion — it’s tied closely to music, art, and youth subculture.
Apparel Group brought Ben Sherman to the Indian market digitally last year, launching on Myntra and other major e-commerce platforms.
Following the Surat launch, the brand opened its second store at Phoenix Pride of India in Indore, extending its presence to another key Indian city. A third store has since opened at H&S Mall, Boulevard Walk, in Greater Noida West. According to an announcement made by Apparel Group on social media, Ben Sherman’s fourth store has opened at Lulu Mall, Lucknow.
According to Apparel Group, these openings are part of a broader rollout strategy for Ben Sherman in India, with additional stores planned across major markets in the coming months.
