ASICS SportStyle has announced the return of the iconic GEL-KAYANO™ 12.1, co-created with long-time collaborator KITH, reimagining the 12th iteration of the GEL-KAYANO™ franchise with modern materials and enhanced cushioning.
Blending heritage and innovation, the GEL-KAYANO™ 12.1 revives its mid-2000s aesthetic, retaining the design language of the original model inspired by European gothic armor. The shoe features metallic-colored synthetic leather overlays and open mesh underlays for ventilation and comfort. The tongue showcases Japanese Kanji characters translating to “Kayano,” paying tribute to Toshikazu Kayano, the designer behind the original series (1993–2007).
