Malabar Group allocates ₹150 crore to expand CSR programs in FY26

Malabar Group has committed to distributing 70,000 meals daily in India and Zambia during 2025–26 under its ‘Hunger Free World’ CSR initiative. The program aims to deliver a total of 2.5 crore meals over the year, matching the cumulative total it achieved over the past three years.

The announcement was made on World Hunger Day at an event in New Delhi, where Dr. Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog and G20 Sherpa, launched the next phase of the Group’s CSR programs.

As part of the initiative, over 60,000 meals are served daily through 167 centres across 20 states in India, while 10,000 meals are provided in collaboration with the Zambian government to students in three schools. The meals are prepared in dedicated kitchens equipped with modern facilities and operated by trained staff.

Malabar Group has allocated Rs 150 crore for its CSR programs in 2025–26. Along with hunger alleviation, the group is focusing on healthcare, education, women empowerment, housing, and environmental protection.

In education, the Group runs 716 micro-learning centres across India, in partnership with Thanal, providing primary education and nutrition to street children. Over 32,000 children have enrolled so far, with 9,000 integrated into formal schools. Additionally, 1.14 lakh scholarships have been awarded to girls for continuing education.

The company also runs an initiative called Grandma Homes, providing shelter and care for destitute women in Bengaluru, Kerala, and Hyderabad, with plans to expand to other major cities.

In healthcare, Malabar Group plans to open non-profit medical stores in all 140 assembly constituencies in Kerala, with 27 already operational. It has also launched the Uyirppu Project, which supports higher education for 134 children affected by a landslide in Wayanad.

Since its inception, the Group has allocated 5% of its profits to social welfare programs.
