Japanese apparel retailer UNIQLO is set to open two new stores in India, with locations in Pune and Bengaluru scheduled to launch in May and June respectively, as the brand deepens its presence in the country’s growing urban retail market.
The Pune store at Phoenix Market City will open on 15 May, followed by the Bengaluru outlet at Phoenix Marketcity Bangalore on 5 June. Both stores will span approximately 21,000 sq. ft. and carry UNIQLO’s full range of clothing for men, women, and children.
“The response from our customers in India has been incredibly encouraging, especially in cities like Pune and Bengaluru where there is a growing demand for simple, high-quality everyday clothing,” said Kenji Inoue, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, UNIQLO India. “With these new stores, we look forward to reaching even more customers and continuing to bring LifeWear to people across India.”
The two openings are part of a broader push by UNIQLO to expand across India, bringing what the brand calls its LifeWear philosophy — clothing designed to make everyday living better — to more customers nationwide.
Each store will feature modern layouts and the brand’s signature visual identity, designed to deliver what UNIQLO describes as a seamless shopping experience. Further details on opening celebrations and special offers are expected in the coming weeks.
UNIQLO is the flagship brand of Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., a Tokyo-based retail holding company that recorded global sales of approximately 3.4 trillion yen — around US $23 billion — in its 2025 fiscal year. The company currently operates more than 2,500 UNIQLO stores worldwide across Japan, Asia, Europe, and North America.
