Indian fashion and beauty retailers Shoppers Stop and SSBeauty have secured a Guinness World Records title for the Longest Line of Lipsticks, using 1,016 lipsticks to create a giant lipstick installation as part of “Lip Land,” a first-of-its-kind experiential beauty campaign.
The record-breaking display was assembled over July 25–26, ahead of National Lipstick Day on July 29, and marks the latest milestone in the retailer’s push to celebrate individuality and self-expression through beauty.
Lip Land itself featured a much larger showcase of more than 3,000 lipstick products, drawn from the Shoppers Stop and SSBeauty ecosystem of over 500 premium brands — with the 1,016-lipstick installation forming the centrepiece of the record attempt. The two-day activation combined the record bid with interactive installations, product trials and beauty experiences, drawing in shoppers and beauty enthusiasts.
Brands participating in the event included Maybelline, Chambor, Revlon, Love ETC, Faces Canada, Nykaa, Lakmé and Joyology.
Speaking on the success of the initiative, Jiten Mahendra, Customer Care Associate and CMO, Shoppers Stop, said, “At Shoppers Stop, we believe beauty is a powerful expression of individuality. With over 3,000+ lipstick choices curated for every style, mood and occasion, this GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS®️ Title is more than a record, it reflects our commitment to creating immersive experiences that redefine premium beauty retail.”
Beyond the brands featured at Lip Land, Shoppers Stop’s beauty portfolio also includes global names such as Armani Beauty, Prada Beauty, M·A·C, NARS, Shiseido, Clarins and Valentino Beauty, spanning prestige, premium and everyday beauty segments.
The company said the campaign reflects a wider shift in beauty retail toward experience-led shopping, with plans to continue developing concepts aimed at encouraging discovery and deeper consumer engagement.
Founded in 1991, Shoppers Stop is one of India’s largest fashion and beauty retailers, operating 110 department stores, 11 premium home concept stores, 79 specialty beauty stores (including M·A·C, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Jo Malone, NARS, Armani Beauty, Prada Beauty and SS Beauty), 81 Intune stores and 20 airport doors, spanning 4.4 million square feet. The company also runs the First Citizen Club loyalty program and a Personal Shopper service, alongside an omnichannel offering of more than 800 brands.
