Marks and Spencer Reliance India Private Limited has appointed Prateek Kumar as its Head of Retail, as announced by Kumar on social media on Sunday.
Kumar comes to M&S from Zouk, the ethnic and contemporary fashion label, where he served as Director, Offline from December 2024. He was responsible for expanding the brand’s physical retail footprint across the country, building the offline team, setting up processes, and exploring multiple channels for physical growth.
“M&S is a brand with an incredible legacy, strong consumer love, and immense potential for growth in India. After an exciting stint of building and scaling offline retail at Zouk, I’m especially looking forward to this new challenge – bigger opportunities, new learnings, and plenty to build. Here’s to new beginnings and an exciting road ahead!” wrote Kumar on LinkedIn announcing the move.
Prior to Zouk, Kumar spent 8 years at H&M, rising through several roles in finance, expansion and merchandising. In June 2019 he moved into the role of Expansion Controller for business development. He shaped the company’s expansion strategy for India, including its store pipeline through 2026, and steered the country launches of two new brands, COS and H&M Home.
Before H&M, Kumar spent about eight months as Area Sales Manager at Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting. He began his retail career at VIP Industries.
