The Coach x Observed By Us collaboration showcases a collection born from the creative partnership between Los Angeles-based illustrator and designer Jessica Herschko, and Hollywood actress Kirsten Dunst. Herschko is known for creating one-of-a-kind, hand drawn illustrations on clothing for kids and adults.
The new collection in collaboration with Coach exudes the enchanting essence of imagination present in the ordinary, brought to life through the artistic interpretation of the duo and filtered through Coach’s distinct American design ethos.
The assortment encompasses a range of ready-to-wear garments, bags, footwear, and accessories that capture the essence of iconic American staples such as t-shirts, hoodies, floral dresses, and jeans. These classics are revitalized with artisanal details, all stemming from the pair’s deep appreciation for the craft.
Guided by Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers and informed by pieces from Dunst’s personal wardrobe, the collection seamlessly blends her whimsical and nostalgic style with Coach’s storied craftsmanship and ethos of self-expression. The color palette, influenced by Coach’s historic hues, dances with vibrant tones that radiate a youthful, unconventional innocence.
Noteworthy pieces within this collaboration include a wool pointelle crop top, overalls, and a straw hat, each meticulously adorned with original, hand-drawn illustrations by Herschko. Moreover, these items feature distinctive story patches – symbolic of Coach’s authenticity over generations – with narratives penned in Herschko’s distinctive handwriting. These narratives recount the tales behind the illustrations, weaving imaginative stories that transport wearers into worlds of sailboats, strawberries, and even dinosaurs, a nod to Coach’s iconic house mascot, Rexy. This narrative comes alive through exquisite embroidery on the Signature Swinger bag.
