Grasim Industries Ltd., the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has appointed Sangeeta Tanwani as Chief Executive Officer (Designate) of its textiles business, marking a significant leadership transition at one of India’s largest textile manufacturers.
In her new role, Sangeeta will lead the company’s textile operations and drive its consumer-centric and brand-led growth strategy, as Grasim seeks to strengthen its position in the evolving textiles and apparel market.
The appointment underscores the Aditya Birla Group’s focus on accelerating innovation, enhancing customer engagement and delivering sustainable growth across its textiles portfolio.
Sangeeta brings more than three decades of experience across consumer goods, retail, financial services and healthcare sectors. Most recently, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Pantaloons and OWND! at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL), a position she has held since January 2018.

Under her leadership, Pantaloons has undergone a significant transformation, strengthening its position in India’s value-fashion retail segment while expanding its omnichannel and private-label offerings.
Prior to joining ABFRL, Sangeeta was Managing Director for India and South Asia at Kellogg Company, where she was responsible for business operations across the region. Earlier, she served as Vice President – Commercial Beverages for India and South-West Asia at Coca-Cola India.
Her career also includes senior leadership roles at HSBC Middle East, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer, as well as brand and marketing positions at Hindustan Lever Ltd. (now Hindustan Unilever Ltd.) and Novartis.
