Aditya Birla Group’s Grasim Industries’ Cellulosic Fashion Yarn business has launched Raysileco, a new sustainable and fully traceable Viscose Filament Yarn (VFY) under its premium brand Raysil. The product was unveiled at the 7th edition of Yarn Expo in Surat, hosted by The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Produced from wood pulp sourced from certified, sustainably managed forests, Raysileco is designed to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly and transparent fashion solutions. It features both molecular-level and technology-enabled traceability, offering end-to-end visibility of the yarn’s journey from source to retail.
Satyaki Ghosh, CEO of Cellulosic Fashion Yarn business, said, “Raysileco embodies the spirit of innovation with robust sustainability credentials and advanced traceability technologies. This launch reflects our drive to evolve with dynamic market needs and delivering value where performance, responsibility, and trust converge.” He further added: “This product not only reinforces our commitment to sustainability and end-to-end traceability but also empowers our value chain partners with confidence to verify and trust every filament they use.”
A standout feature of Raysileco is its integration with TextileGenesis™, which uses blockchain technology and Fibercoins™ to create a tamper-proof digital record of the yarn’s lifecycle. This system allows fashion brands to trace and verify responsible sourcing in real time.
Raysileco is manufactured at Grasim’s plants in Kalyan (Maharashtra) and Veraval (Gujarat), further supporting the company’s push towards technology-led and scalable sustainable manufacturing.
Grasim’s VFY business under the Raysil brand remains the only global player offering three distinct VFY technologies: Pot Spun Yarn (PSY), Continuous Spun Yarn (CSY), and Spool Spun Yarn (SSY).
