Virat Kohli invests Rs 40 crore in Agilitas, joins Ex-Puma India Head Abhishek Ganguly

Cricket icon Virat Kohli has invested Rs 40 crore in Agilitas Sports, a Bengaluru-based sporting goods company founded by Abhishek Ganguly, former Managing Director of Puma India, as per media reports.

This marks a significant evolution in Kohli’s long-standing association with Ganguly, who was instrumental in signing him as Puma’s brand ambassador back in 2017.

Unlike his previous brand partnerships, Kohli’s involvement with Agilitas goes beyond endorsement. The former Indian captain will actively shape the company’s growth while holding equity through his investment.

Agilitas is a Bengaluru-based sportswear and athleisure company launched in 2023, with a fully-integrated sporting goods ecosystem, covering everything from manufacturing to retail.

“As the sportswear market continues to burgeon, our objective is clear: to seize this opportunity and make a significant impact within the industry,” Ganguly told IMAGES Business of Fashion in an earlier interview.

In 2023, the company acquired Mochiko Shoes, a key contract manufacturer for global sportswear brands including Adidas, Puma, New Balance, Skechers, and Decathlon. It has also secured licensing rights for Italian sports brand Lotto, allowing Agilitas to sell Lotto products in India and select international markets.

Backed by investors such as Spring Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, and former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Agilitas has already raised close to ₹600 crore in less than two years.
