4 years after entering India, UNIQLO opens first Mumbai store

Uniqlo is eagerly preparing to inaugurate its long-anticipated debut store in Mumbai, scheduled for October 6th at Phoenix Marketcity Kurla. The doors will open to shoppers at 11:00 a.m., ushering in a new fashion era in the bustling metropolis. The establishment of this store marks a significant milestone in Uniqlo’s expansion into the Indian market, offering Mumbaikars access to the brand’s renowned LifeWear concept, which epitomizes thoughtfully designed apparel tailored to meet the requirements of daily life.

Encompassing a generous expanse of 11,500 square feet, this two-story emporium will not only serve as a retail space but also double as a canvas for local architect and illustrator Aashti Miller, who has graced the escalator wall with vibrant, engaging artwork.

Tomohiko Sei, the Chief Executive Officer of UNIQLO India, articulated his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to open our much-awaited first Mumbai store. From seeing a strong demand on our e-commerce channel to now launching brick-and-mortar stores in Mumbai, we are delighted to bring our LifeWear to Mumbaikars, and look forward to supporting their daily lives.”

This occasion represents Uniqlo’s 11th store in India, while also signifying its maiden venture into Mumbai. To commemorate this event, the brand is extending a warm welcome to shoppers with exclusive promotions, including limited deals on core items such as Ultra Light Down Jackets, Soft Brushed Shirts, Flannel Shirts, U AIRism Oversized T-Shirts, and EZY Jeans. The first 100 customers will receive a complimentary Round Mini Shoulder Bag, and those who make purchases totaling INR 6,000 or more will be rewarded with a custom Tote Bag featuring a unique Uniqlo x Mumbai design.

The Uniqlo Phoenix Marketcity Kurla, Mumbai, will house a two-story retail haven, offering an extensive array of LifeWear collections designed for men, women, kids, and even the littlest ones, babies. The store is set to showcase the full spectrum of the Fall/Winter product range, encompassing innovative items like Ultra Light Down, HEATTECH, and Recycled Fleece garments. Essential wardrobe staples include easy-care rayon pieces, AIRism T-shirts, denim selections, fine cloth shirts, smart ankle pants, and an exclusive Uniqlo and KAWS collaboration UT T-shirt collection.
