Puma marks 75 years with 75 store openings in India in 2023

In a testament to its robust growth strategy, global sportswear giant Puma announced the inauguration of 75 new retail outlets across India in 2023. This expansion, detailed by a company representative on social media platforms, underscores Puma’s commitment to establishing a stronger presence in the burgeoning Indian market.

Spanning an impressive expanse of over 2 lakh square feet, these new outlets are strategically distributed across key urban centers including Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kochi, Guwahati, Surat, Dehradun, Jaipur, and Indore, among others.

Reflecting on this milestone, Abhijith R, the Business Development Manager overseeing operations in South India, lauded the exceptional growth and resilience demonstrated by Puma India throughout the year. “2023 was a year of unprecedented growth and resilience for PUMA India. We opened gates to 75 stores nationwide; our dedication to excellence propelled us to stay ahead of the game. An exceptional year of setting records and acing the game, it wouldn’t have been possible without you keeping us #ForeverFaster,” he remarked in a LinkedIn post.

Amidst these achievements, Puma India welcomed Karthik Balagopalan as its new Managing Director, succeeding Abhishek Ganguly, who departed to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors. This leadership transition signifies a new chapter in Puma’s journey in India, underscoring the brand’s commitment to sustained growth and innovation.

Since its inception in 2006, Puma has steadily solidified its position in the Indian market, currently operating over 582 stores nationwide as of August 9, 2023. Founded in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler, Puma has evolved into a multinational corporation renowned for its cutting-edge athletic and casual footwear, apparel, and accessories. With a global presence spanning more than 120 countries and a workforce exceeding 20,000 employees, Puma continues to be a trailblazer in the world of sports and lifestyle fashion.
