Curated fashion & lifestyle destination, COYU has opened its first store in south India at Orion Mall, Brigade Gateway.
With brands like Karen Millen and Sister Jane from the UK; DKNY from New York; Salsa Jeans from Portugal; and Bunka and Sylvian Heach from Italy and Saaksha & Kinni, Karaj Jaipur, Silai Studio, Rainas, Sheetal Batra, Our Love, Dash and Dot, and Linden Bloom from India, Coyu brings together an eclectic mix of global and contemporary Indian labels, offering patrons a truly curated fashion discovery experience.
Since its inception in October 2024, Coyu – whose foray into retail began with a debut store at Ambience Vasant Kunj in October 2024 and a pop-up outlet at DLF Avenue Saket – has onboarded over 50 national and international labels.
On February 22, 2025, the omnichannel platform officially opened its flagship store at IREO Gurugram, boasting 6,000 sq. ft. of carper area. It also launched its D2C website alongside the stores.
Securing Funding
Coyu secured approximately $26 million in funding around mid-last year from four investors including Prosus Ventures, Peak XV, and Sofina, along with several angel investors.
Helping it scale are its founders, Mohit Gupta (former MakeMyTrip COO and ex-Zomato co-founder) and Myntra Founder & Cult.fit Strategic Advisor, Mukesh Bansal.
Coyu’s In-Store Specialities
The brand’s flagship stores are designed to be an immersive experience and feature over 50 brands under one roof.
“Technology is at the heart of Coyu’s vision, driving our seamless omnichannel approach. Apart from personalised services (such as a personal shopping lounge and in-house stylists who assist customers in selecting outfits based on their body type and fashion preferences), our AI-powered styling recommendations ensure a bespoke experience. In-store, we enhance engagement and convenience through smart retail solutions like digital concierge services and exclusive personalised shopping lounges,” Mohit Gupta told IMAGES Business of Fashion in an interview earlier this year.
They also provide real-time fittings, customisations, and alterations, along with made-to-order services for select brands. Additionally, the Delhi flagship features a gourmet coffee cart serving coffee and small bites, elevating the overall shopping experience.
With their primary focus being womenswear, Coyu’s focus in FY25 is on opening seven to eight stores in top tier-1 cities while refining and validating a model that works for both its customers and business. Once the brand has that in place, it plans to scale more aggressively starting in 2026.
