Arvind Fashions to acquire Flipkart’s 31.25% stake in Arvind Youth brands for Rs 135 crore

Arvind Fashions Ltd (AFL) said on Monday that it will acquire the Flipkart Group’s 31.25% stake in Arvind Youth Brands Pvt. Ltd. (AYBPL) for Rs 135 crore, making the company a wholly owned subsidiary of AFL upon completion of the transaction.

AYBPL houses Flying Machine, one of India’s leading homegrown denim and casualwear brands. The entity is engaged in the wholesale and retail of apparel and accessories under the Flying Machine label and reported a turnover of Rs 432.16 crore in FY25.

Over the past few years, Flying Machine has strengthened its presence in the digital ecosystem, significantly scaling visibility and growth on ecommerce platforms. The association with Flipkart helped position Flying Machine as one of the top casualwear brands online, particularly among young, fashion-forward consumers.

Commenting on the development, Amisha Jain, Managing Director & CEO, Arvind Fashions Ltd, said that the partnership with Flipkart has been instrumental in accelerating Flying Machine’s digital journey. She added that the relationship with Flipkart will continue from a marketplace perspective, ensuring customers will still be able to shop the brand on Flipkart’s platforms, in addition to other digital channels.

The acquisition includes of AYBPL and is expected to be completed on December 29, 2025. Post the transaction, Arvind Youth Brands will transition into a wholly owned subsidiary of Arvind Fashions, consolidating AFL’s control over Flying Machine as it continues to build the brand across online and offline channels.
