Japanese sportswear brand ASICS has relaunched its Select Citywalk store in Saket, Delhi, the first store it opened in India, as part of its push to strengthen its retail presence in the country.
The store, which first opened in 2015 and marked the start of ASICS’ retail journey in India, now follows the brand’s global retail format. The company said the move reflects its evolution and its focus on improving the in-store experience for consumers.
A key feature of the relaunched outlet is ASICS’ proprietary Foot ID technology, which offers personalised biomechanical analysis and 3D foot scanning. The tool is designed to help shoppers find a running shoe suited to their foot shape and stride.
The store also stocks products across Running, SportStyle, Core Performance Sport (CPS) and Apparel, bringing the brand’s performance and lifestyle offerings under one roof. The company said it has strengthened its position in running over the years while expanding into other categories, pointing to the potential of the Indian market.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajat Khurana, Managing Director, ASICS India & South Asia, and Executive Officer, ASICS Corporation, said:
“When we launched our first store in india in 2015, it was much more than launching a store, it symbolized our belief in the Indian consumer, and the potential in the running community in the country. Since then, the trust of our consumers, runners and partners has been instrumental in building ASICS into a stronger retail presence, growing from one store to 152 and counting. The relaunch of our Select Citywalk store is particularly meaningful because it brings us back to where our journey began, while reflecting how far we have come. We are not just making our first store bigger, we are honouring the place where our India journey began and making room for everything that is still to come while staying “Ahead of the Game.” As we continue to grow in India, our focus remains on creating long-term value for our consumers and partners while staying true to our philosophy of ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body’.”
The company described the relaunch as both a celebration of its India journey and a reflection of its future ambitions. As it continues to expand its retail footprint and deepen engagement with consumers, ASICS said the store represents a renewed commitment to building on its legacy and unlocking the next phase of growth in one of its key markets.
