NEWME reaches 40 stores across India, targets 60 stores by March 2027

Gen Z fashion brand NEWME has crossed the 40-store milestone, opening two new outlets today in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, and Model Town, Jalandhar. Both stores sit in high-footfall markets that add to the brand’s growing presence across India’s key fashion catchments.

The company has opened 22 stores in 2026 alone — more than the 18 it opened across its first three years combined, marking a sharp acceleration in its retail push.

Founded in 2022 as a digital-first fashion startup, NEWME has evolved rapidly into an omnichannel player with a physical footprint across some of India’s most important fashion markets.

Sumit Jasoria, CEO & Co-founder, NEWME, said, “Reaching 40 stores is an important milestone for us, but the pace behind it is even more significant. In our first three years, we were deliberately measured about retail expansion, using our early stores to understand consumer behaviour, markets and the right formats for NEWME. The traction we have seen has given us the confidence to accelerate, and we have now added 22 stores this year alone—more than in our first three years. We are now looking to reach 50 stores by December and 60 stores by March 2027, as we build a strong physical network that takes NEWME closer to young consumers across the country. We believe India has the consumers, talent and opportunity to build a global fashion company, and the next generation of Indian brands can make that happen.”

New cities, new formats

Over the past two months, NEWME has entered new cities including Jalandhar, Jodhpur, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam and Vadodara, while deepening its footprint in established markets such as Delhi, Mumbai and Rajasthan. In August alone, the brand opened five stores across Delhi, Mumbai and Rajasthan.

The company is also shifting its retail strategy toward high-footfall premium high streets and established shopping destinations, alongside malls, to build closer, more visible connections with young shoppers in both metro and emerging markets.

Store locations are chosen through a data-led approach — using digital demand, consumer behaviour and location-level traction to identify markets where online engagement is already strong before establishing a physical presence. Offline retail now contributes more than 30% of NEWME’s business, having grown 100% year-on-year, a share the company expects to keep rising as its store count grows.

The retail expansion is complemented by NEWME Zip, the brand’s quick-fashion delivery service, which the company says works alongside its stores and digital platform to form a connected fashion ecosystem.

Backing and scale

NEWME has served over 35 lakh customers to date and is backed by investors Accel and Fireside Ventures. The company was founded in 2022 by Sumit Jasoria, Vinod Naik, Shivam Tripathi and Himanshu Chaudhary, and targets a base of more than 500 million Gen Z consumers across India and Southeast Asia.

With its sights set on 50 stores by December 2026 and 60 by the end of FY27, NEWME is betting on a wider physical footprint — spanning metros, emerging markets and high streets — to complement the speed and agility of its digital-first roots.
