Palmonas, the fast-growing direct-to-consumer (D2C) jewellery brand, has appointed Prashant Lele as its new Vice President of Finance. The move was announced by Lele via LinkedIn.
Lele, a seasoned finance leader with over 15 years of experience in the retail and jewellery sectors, joins the Shraddha Kapoor-backed startup at a critical juncture of its expansion. In his new role, he will be responsible for building a scalable, investor-ready finance organization, focusing on high-level governance, working capital discipline. He will also be strategically steering the business with the company’s founders, Pallavi Mohadikar and Dr. Amol Patwari.
Lele makes the move to Palmonas following a highly successful five-year tenure at CaratLane (A TATA Product). During his time there, most recently as Director of Finance, he played a pivotal role in the brand’s explosive growth.
As Palmonas continues to capture market share in the premium jewelry segment, Lele’s expertise in inventory valuation and gold price risk management will be vital. The brand, which is backed by institutional investors, looks to leverage Lele’s background in building “early warning systems” and data-driven KPIs to ensure sustainable profitability across its retail and digital channels.
Beyond the jewellery industry, Lele brings a wealth of knowledge from some of India’s largest corporate entities. His career includes a nearly six-year stint at Reliance Retail. He has also held commercial and financial roles at Pepe Jeans India, Akzo Nobel, and Cargill.
