UK fashion giant NEXT opens 1st store in India with Myntra partnership

NEXT, UK’s iconic fashion brand, today announced the official launch of its Exclusive Brand Store (EBO) in India in association with Myntra Jabong India Pvt. Ltd. (MJIPL), the B2B wholesale entity of Myntra and its franchisee partners.

As part of the strategic association with NEXT, MJIPL has the licensed rights to distribute the brand’s range of products and the brand’s rights to its licensed franchisee partners for opening and operating stores, while holistically scaling NEXT’s omni-channel presence in India.

The first Indian store, spread across 7,100 sq. ft. at Pune’s Pavilion Mall, showcases NEXT’s hallmark British elegance and modernity across men’s, women’s, and kidswear categories. Designed to reflect the brand’s global retail identity, the store layout is aimed at creating an inviting shopping environment with strategically displayed collections.

NEXT will scale its presence in India through both standalone stores and shop-in-shop formats. Already present in 10 Shoppers Stop locations, the brand plans to expand to more than 50 points of sale—including EBOs and shop-in-shops—over the next five to six years. Key markets on the expansion roadmap include Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

“The opening of our first NEXT store in Pune is a pivotal moment in our partnership with Myntra,” a spokesperson for NEXT said. “We are incredibly excited to bring the NEXT retail experience to our Indian customers, offering them direct access to our latest collections.”

India is emerging as a key strategic market for NEXT’s global expansion. Since debuting on the Myntra platform in 2023, the brand has seen consistent growth and strong demand from Indian consumers, particularly in the premium segment. The launch of physical stores is expected to complement its online presence and further strengthen NEXT’s positioning as a trusted fashion destination in India.

Founded in 1982, NEXT is a British multinational retailer of clothing, footwear, and home products, headquartered in Enderby, Leicestershire. The brand operates over 460 stores in the UK, 265 international franchise outlets, and has an online presence in more than 80 countries.
