Building on their legacy of creative collaboration, Converse and GOLF WANG are debuting a new collection featuring the One Star CC Slip Pro. The One Star CC Slip Pro is informed by archival Converse slip-on shoes from the 1960s, including the Deck Star Gore and the Sea Star Gore.
This is the first time the partnership has worked on the slip-on skate silhouette, resulting in a thoughtful exploration of texture and tone, with three distinct colorways.
The Creator & His Creation
With a deep affection for the Converse archive, Tyler, The Creator often finds himself digging through the vaults for inspiration. For this latest collaboration, Tyler has taken the classic One Star formula and turns it on its head, incorporating innovative materials, bold colors, and GOLF WANG’s signature irreverence.
The One Star CC Slip Pro draws inspiration not only from Converse archival slip-on models, but also from the rich heritage of the brand’s iconic 1970’s One Star line—designed to be a low-profile, high-performance basketball shoe.
Each shoe in the collection features a two-tone hairy suede upper, carefully crafted to reflect the intricate details of its namesake landscape.
- The Concrete iteration, dubbed Forget Me Not, features a two-tone hairy suede upper in a soft, muted blue tone that recalls the gentle hue of a cloudy sky.
- The Grass iteration, Forest Elf, boasts a lush, green suede upper that’s reminiscent of a dense forest floor.
- The Dirt iteration, Black Beauty, takes a darker, moodier approach, with a rich, black suede upper that’s evocative of fertile soil.
Egret foxing tape, finished with a delicate varnish, adds a touch of sophistication to each shoe, while the co-branded sock liner features an image of the landscape that inspired the design.
