Activewear brand TechnoSport has made its Chennai debut with the launch of a flagship Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) in Besant Nagar. This 1,600 sq. ft. store marks the brand’s 15th outlet in India and its fourth in Tamil Nadu, following Tiruppur, Salem, and Coimbatore. With one outlet also operational in Pondicherry, the opening signals a major step forward in TechnoSport’s expansion strategy across South India.
As part of its aggressive retail push, the brand aims to open 12 EBOs across Tamil Nadu by the end of the current fiscal year. Of these, three more stores are planned in Chennai, reflecting the city’s importance in the brand’s regional growth trajectory. Additionally, TechnoSport is eyeing tier 1+ cities such as Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur to strengthen its Southern India footprint.
Salem and Tiruppur, currently the brand’s top-performing stores nationwide, have highlighted Tamil Nadu’s central role in TechnoSport’s success. Leveraging this strong market response, the company is doubling down on its presence in the region.
To celebrate the Chennai foray, TechnoSport hosted a Friendship Day Run that was held at the newly launched Besant Nagar store. The brand served as the event’s official Activewear Partner.
Sunil Jhunjhunwala, Co-Founder & Managing Director of TechnoSport, said, “This launch brings us a step closer to making high-quality, innovative activewear accessible to all.”
Puspen Maity, CEO, TechnoSport, added, “We are confident of opening three EBOs in Chennai alone before the end of this fiscal year. Beyond the metros, we look forward to reaching tier 1+ cities including Madurai, Trichy, Vellore, Karur, and Hosur.”
The Besant Nagar store features TechnoSport’s full range of high-performance activewear.
As part of its EBO-first retail strategy, TechnoSport plans to scale up to 50 exclusive outlets across India by the end of the fiscal year.
