V2 Retail adds 24 new stores in August, crosses 415-store mark

V2 Retail Ltd. has opened 24 new stores across India in August 2026, its strongest single month of expansion to date, taking its total store count past 415 across more than 345 cities. The rollout follows the company’s strong Q1 financial results and a recent NSE filing marking its 400th store.

The retailer, known for opening multiple stores on a single day — five at once on one earlier occasion, six on another — sustained that pace through an entire month this time, turning a one-day burst into a month-long expansion of 24 outlets.

The new stores span 11 states and range from metro markets like Bangalore to smaller towns such as Malkangiri in Odisha and Banka in Bihar, areas that typically don’t see branded fashion retail. Together, the openings added nearly 200,000 sq. ft. of retail space and roughly 1,000 direct jobs, based on the company’s estimate of about 40 employees per store — part of its broader target of generating over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs annually through store expansion.

To mark the milestone, V2 Retail released an AI-generated video series across its social media platforms, tied to its “A Bigger V2, Building a Better Bharat” campaign.

Speaking on the numbers, Ram Chandra Agarwal, Founder, V2 Retail Ltd., said, “We’ve opened stores fast on a single day before, but doing 24 across a full month, in towns as different as Bangalore and Malkangiri, is a different kind of test. It means every part of the system, from real estate to hiring to stock, is firing together across very different markets. That’s the real story here, not just the number. We are building a better Bharat, with a bigger V2.”

Akash Agarwal, Chief Executive Officer, V2 Retail Ltd., added, “August was about proving we can sustain pace, not just spike it. Following our strong Q1 financial trajectories where revenue surged 58% YoY, we are firmly targeting 170 to 200 new stores this fiscal, largely in Tier-II and Tier-III markets. Crucially, this entire expansion is self-funded through our own internal accruals and cash flows, with no equity dilution. We’re also putting money behind supply chain digitalization to keep up with the pace. Small-town India is where most of this growth is happening.”

Founded in 2002 with a single store, V2 Retail has grown into one of India’s fastest-expanding value fashion chains, selling apparel for men, women, and children. With over 415 stores across more than 345 cities, the company is targeting 40–50% annual revenue growth as part of its push to become India’s fastest-growing value fashion brand.
