TechnoSport to invest Rs 200 crore to open 300 stores in the next 2 years

Homegrown activewear brand TechnoSport is on a rapid expansion spree, strengthening both its retail footprint and manufacturing base. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, the brand has evolved into one of India’s leading performance wear players.

Rapid Retail Expansion

  • In September 2025, TechnoSport launched four stores in one week, reinforcing its commitment to Central India’s emerging market, with recent openings in Raipur. The brand plans to open eight more outlets across Central India by the end of the current fiscal year (target locations include Bilaspur, Durg, Bhopal, and Jabalpur).

  • The brand now operates 21 exclusive stores nationally and aims to reach 50 exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) by the end of 2025.

  • TechnoSport also accelerated its expansion in Eastern India in September, with two new outlets in Kolkata and Asansol, marking a shift in its growth focus and deepening its brand presence in the region.

Investment & Growth Plans

To power its growth, TechnoSport has committed Rs 200 crore to open 300 exclusive stores across India over the next two years. The brand, which closed FY24 at Rs 400 crore revenue (30% YoY growth), aims to touch Rs 600 crore by FY25, as per media reports.

Puspen Maity, CEO, TechnoSport, said, “The launch of our new stores in Kolkata and Asansol marks a decisive step in TechnoSport’s retail journey, with Eastern India emerging as our next engine of growth. Having already built strong brand recall across general trade channels and D2C in East, our exclusive brand outlets are poised to further enhance the customer experience and add to the end-to-end shopping journey of the consumers.”

Speaking to IMAGES Business of Fashion Maity added, “To accelerate this momentum, we have committed Rs 200 crore to open 300 exclusive outlets across India over the next two years. This expansion not only brings performance-driven, affordable, ‘Made in India’ activewear closer to consumers but also creates jobs and contributes to local economies, reflecting our vision of driving both business growth and social impact.”

In parallel, TechnoSport has signed a landmark MoU with the Government of Odisha, committing a Rs 100 crore investment to set up a next-generation activewear manufacturing facility in the state.

The factory is expected to generate 1,000+ direct jobs, leverage plug-and-play infrastructure, and prioritise sustainability through renewable energy and closed-loop recycling. With a workforce focus on 80% women, the facility will also contribute to Odisha’s ambition of becoming a national textile and apparel hub.
