Superdry’s parent company Cult Clothing was founded in Cheltenham, England in 1985 by Julian Dunkerton along with a former business partner. Superdry was born in 2003 after Dunkerton took a trip to Tokyo and was inspired by Japanese designs.
Following the successful introduction of Superdry into Cult Clothing stores, a second store format, branded as Superdry and dedicated to selling Superdry products, was launched in 2004. Today, the brand is known for its high-quality products that blend vintage Americana and Japanese-inspired graphics with British style. By 2012, all Cult Clothing stores were rebranded Superdry following the brand’s global success.
Reliance Brands has been Superdry’s exclusive franchise partner in India since 2012.
