Luxury fashion house Sabyasachi Couture, whose majority stake is owned by the Aditya Birla Group, has named Manish Chopra as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Chopra joins Sabyasachi Couture from his most recent role as a senior leader at Shein India, a Reliance Retail-backed venture. His appointment comes at a time when homegrown luxury labels, including Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra, and Gaurav Gupta, are expanding their international footprint and the domestic retail market is rebounding after a subdued 2024.
A Diverse Leadership Journey
Chopra’s career spans major global corporations and entrepreneurial ventures. He began at Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals and PwC, where he advanced to managing consultant. He later moved into technology leadership, serving as Director of Enterprise Product Marketing at Oracle APAC and as Chief Operating and Marketing Officer for Microsoft in Indonesia, overseeing strategy, operations, sales, product marketing, public relations, branding, and citizenship programs.
In the startup ecosystem, Chopra founded Zovi.com and co-founded Little Internet, before joining Meta as Director and Head of Partnerships for Facebook India, where he managed business development across platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
