Recode Studios plans to scale from 1,000 to 2,000 MBOs; hits Rs 81 cr in FY25-26

Recode Studios has announced plans to scale its Micro Business Operator (MBO) network from 1,000 to 2,000, riding on the back of strong financial performance that saw the company cross Rs 81 crore in revenue in FY2025-26.

The expansion is aimed at deepening the brand’s footprint in Tier II and Tier III cities, where demand has seen a marked uptick. The MBO model — which enables individuals to operate as independent business partners of the brand — has been central to both the company’s commercial growth and its broader mission of grassroots entrepreneurship.

Dheeraj Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director of Recode Studios, said, “While reaching a revenue milestone of Rs 81 crore is important for us as a company, what really matters for us is the impact we are able to create at the grassroots level. We have always envisioned our impact as empowering people to become entrepreneurs. Taking our MBOs to 2,000 is a step towards achieving our vision.”

To support the expanded network, Recode Studios said it will continue investing in operational capabilities and digital infrastructure. The company added that strengthening engagement with existing and new MBOs — ensuring they have access to the tools, training, and resources needed to succeed — remains a core priority going forward.

With a replicable business model and growing demand from emerging markets, Recode Studios positions itself as a company building commercial scale alongside economic participation.
