Raymond enters luxury menswear with Chairman’s Collection flagship in Mumbai

Raymond Lifestyle Limited has launched its first luxury menswear destination, Chairman’s Collection, at Bandra’s Linking Road in Mumbai, marking its entry into a couture-led, experience-driven retail format.

Opened on April 10, the two-level store spans over 11,000 sq. ft. and is positioned as a flagship expression of the brand’s capabilities in fine fabrics, bespoke tailoring, and premium menswear. The launch was hosted as an exclusive, closed-door evening event.

Extending Menswear into a Broader Luxury Proposition

The Chairman’s Collection store brings together apparel, accessories, and lifestyle elements within a single environment.

The offering includes:

  • Tailored suits, statement jackets, and overcoats crafted in premium fabrics
  • Printed silk shirts, embroidered denim, and embellished T-shirts reflecting a “quiet luxury” aesthetic
  • Baroque-inspired pieces in jewel-toned velvets and rich textures
  • Indo-Western “contemporary heirloom” ensembles designed for ceremonies and celebrations

Beyond apparel, the format extends into adjacent categories such as fine jewellery for men, including lab-grown diamonds, curated fragrances and watches, and Formula 1-inspired collectible objects.

Speaking at the launch, Satyaki Ghosh, CEO, Raymond Lifestyle Limited, said:

Built on an Expansive Retail and Brand Ecosystem

Raymond Lifestyle operates one of India’s most extensive fashion retail networks, with over 1,500 stores across 600+ cities and towns.

Its core retail formats include:

  • The Raymond Shop (TRS) – the flagship format focused on fabrics and tailoring
  • Raymond Ready to Wear – offering formal and smart-casual apparel
  • Raymond Made to Measure – bespoke tailoring services

In addition, its key brands—Park Avenue, ColorPlus, Parx and Ethnix by Raymond—operate exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) and continue to expand their independent retail presence across malls and high streets.

Internationally, Raymond Lifestyle has a presence across UAE, Bangladesh, Nepal, and South Africa, including 44 international “The Raymond Shop” outlets and ColorPlus exclusive brand outlets in Oman (Dubai market).

Financial Context and Premiumisation Strategy

The move into luxury retail comes as the company continues to scale its branded apparel business following the restructuring from Raymond Limited.

Key financial indicators for the lifestyle business include:

  • Annual revenues in the range of ₹6,500–₹7,000 crore
  • Quarterly revenues of approximately ₹1,800–₹1,900 crore in recent periods
  • EBITDA margins in the ~13–15% range, reflecting stable operating performance

The business has traditionally been scale-driven, supported by its wide retail network and strong presence in fabrics and formalwear. The Chairman’s Collection format represents a shift toward higher realisation, lower-volume retail, anchored in bespoke services and premium categories.

Positioned Within a Premiumising Menswear Market

The launch aligns with broader shifts in India’s apparel market, where premium and occasion-led menswear is seeing increased traction.

Growth drivers include:

  • Rising spending on weddings and celebrations
  • Growing acceptance of bespoke and made-to-measure formats
  • Interest in differentiated, statement-led wardrobes among affluent consumers

Luxury menswear in India remains relatively underpenetrated compared to womenswear, with demand historically split between designer couture and formalwear brands. Chairman’s Collection positions itself within this emerging space by combining brand legacy, tailoring expertise, and a luxury retail environment.
