BESTSELLER India today announced Rakesh Ranjan as the new Business Head for JACK&JONES and SELECTED, marking the beginning of a new strategic chapter for two of India’s most influential menswear brands.
For someone who has spent nearly two decades steering global powerhouses across fashion, athleisure, and sporting goods, the move feels both natural and purposeful. Rakesh brings with him a rare blend of brand-building depth, team leadership, sharp commercial acumen, and a proven instinct for transformation in fast-moving consumer markets.
Yet the transition, for him, is driven not only by business opportunity — but by the possibility of shaping culture.
“Being part of BESTSELLER India means working with brands that champion confidence and self-expression. I’m excited to lead the next phase of growth for JACK&JONES and SELECTED. My focus will be on strengthening our brand narratives, accelerating market leadership, and creating meaningful experiences for the new-age consumer. I look forward to building sustained momentum for both brands,” said Rakesh Ranjan, Business Head – JACK&JONES & SELECTED, BESTSELLER India.
A Career Built on Transformation
Rakesh’s journey to this role reads like a layered story of growth across categories, continents, and consumer shifts.
He began his career with Arvind Lifestyle Brands, stepping into the world of fashion retail just as India’s branded apparel industry was coming into its own. From there, his trajectory sharpened through some of the world’s most respected companies.
At Nike, he strengthened the brand’s presence across retail and e-commerce, building expertise in consumer behaviour, franchise operations, and go-to-market strategy.
At adidas, he rose rapidly through leadership ranks, eventually overseeing sales across India & SAARC.
Across more than seven years, he built teams, expanded revenue engines, deepened multichannel retail, and shaped the brand’s aggressive market playbook. His remit spanned modern trade, general trade, retail stores, kids’ business, licensing, and omni-channel strategy.
At Reliance Brands Ltd, he led Superdry India as Vice President & Business Head, sharpening the brand’s identity for premium Indian consumers, strengthening commercial discipline, and steering product and marketplace strategy.
Across each of these roles, one theme stands out: Rakesh has consistently been the leader companies turn to when they need clarity, impact, and momentum.
A Global Education That Mirrors His Global Career
Rakesh’s leadership presence is reinforced by a robust academic foundation across some of the world’s most respected business schools.
- Columbia Business School – Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business Management (Top 5%)
- Harvard Business School – Organizational Leadership Program
- IIM Ahmedabad – Executive MBA, Senior Business Management Programme (Top 5%)
- NIFT – Master’s in Fashion Management (Top 5%)
- Delhi University, Ramjas College – Bachelor’s Degree (Class Topper)
This blend of fashion grounding, global leadership training, and digital transformation expertise makes him uniquely equipped to lead JACK&JONES and SELECTED in one of the world’s most dynamic fashion markets.
BESTSELLER India’s Renewed Push
As menswear enters its next phase — shaped by premiumisation, lifestyle-led choices, digital discovery, and a heightened desire for self-expression — BESTSELLER India is strengthening its leadership bench to meet the moment.
Rakesh’s appointment signals a renewed push toward:

His next chapter begins at a time when menswear in India is rewriting its own story.
And with him leading JACK&JONES and SELECTED, that story is set to find a bold new voice.
