Rajesh Narkar has stepped down from his role as Chief Merchandising Officer of Ajio.com. Ajio.com is Reliance Retail’s online fashion and lifestyle platform, launched in 2016 as part of the group’s digital commerce push.
Narkar, who had joined AJIO 2 years ago, says he did so in a bid to “understand how fashion moves when culture, commerce and technology converge at scale”.
“What I found was a team that pushed hard, learned fast, and showed up for each other. We built wins, took risks, made mistakes, and kept moving,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post.
“The journey has shaped me in ways I value deeply — in how to build trust, how to grow brands with intention, and how to operate with both creativity and discipline. I’m grateful for every conversation, every collaboration, and every relationship formed along the way,” the post continues.
His LinkedIn post says he is stepping forward to “expand his vision and build anew, with clarity, purpose, and the hunger to shape what comes next”.
Prior to his stint at AJIO, Narkar was Vice President Omni, Marketplace & International Brands at Myntra Jabong.
Narkar has over two decades of experience in retail & e-commerce, with expertise spanning merchandising strategy, omnichannel, category management, pricing and supply chain optimization.
As CMO of Merchandising, his role touched what consumers see, what’s stocked, how quickly new styles go to market, and how relevant brands/categories are positioned.
