Beauty retailer Nykaa has launched “The Lipstick Wardrobe,” a first-of-its-kind multi-city consumer activation designed to turn lipstick shopping into an interactive, walk-in experience. The pop-up runs from August 7 to August 16 in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ludhiana.
The initiative builds on Nykaa’s track record of large-scale beauty experiences, including its Nykaaland festival, and reflects what the company describes as a shift in consumer behaviour: shoppers today are less likely to own a single lipstick and more likely to curate a “wardrobe” of shades and finishes for different moods and occasions — from everyday nudes to statement reds to social-media-driven glossy trends.
Designed as an immersive walk-in wardrobe, the activation brings together a mix of global and homegrown beauty brands under one roof, including Charlotte Tilbury, M·A·C, e.l.f. Cosmetics and NYX Professional Makeup, alongside Nykaa Cosmetics, Kay Beauty, Ruby Organic and Earth Rhythm. Visitors can swatch, compare and explore a wide range of shades and formulas across the participating labels.
Beyond product trials, the experience incorporates personalised beauty consultations, trend-led recommendations, interactive installations and gamified activities intended to encourage social sharing and content creation. Shoppers can purchase products directly at the pop-up, win freebies and samples through interactive games, and redeem exclusive coupons both in-store and on the Nykaa platform.
The company frames the activation as part of a broader push into “experiential commerce,” positioning physical retail as a space for education and engagement rather than pure transaction. It also ties into Nykaa’s omnichannel strategy, aiming to bring the discovery-driven experience typical of online shopping into a physical setting.
The Lipstick Wardrobe is open August 7–16 at the following locations:
- Mumbai: Oberoi Sky City Mall
- Bengaluru: Forum South Bengaluru
- Ludhiana: Nexus MBD Neopolis Mall
