BESTSELLER India COO Mrithyunjay Amblimath passes away

Mrithyunjay Amblimath, the Chief Operating Officer at BESTSELLER India, has passed away unexpectedly, sources close to IMAGES Business of Fashion confirmed on Monday. He passed away due to a cardiac arrest. He was with his family at the time of his untimely passing.

Amblimath joined BESTSELLER India in September 2011 and served the organisation for nearly 14 years, overseeing sales strategy, expansion. In parallel, he also held the position of Head Retail at Global Trends Ltd since February 2010.

Amblimath had recently taken on the role of interim leader at BESTSELLER India, following the announcement of CEO & Country Head Vineet Gautam stepping down after a 15-year tenure.

A core member of the brand’s leadership team, Amblimath played a significant role in driving operational efficiency and supporting the growth of marquee brands like JACK & JONES, VERO MODA, ONLY, and SELECTED HOMME in India.

BESTSELLER India currently operates 362 exclusive brand outlets and is present in over 1,793 shop-in-shops in external multi-brand stores throughout India.

BESTSELLER India markets and sells the six BESTSELLER brands JACK & JONES, VERO MODA, ONLY, SELECTED HOMME, JACK & JONES Junior and VERO MODA GIRL.

Forever in our hearts,” the company wrote on its official LinkedIn page announcing Amblimath’s demise.
