L’Oréal India has appointed Jacques Lebel as the new Country Manager, succeeding Aseem Kaushik, who will step into the role of Chairman. Both the roles will be effective from October 1, 2025.
According to media reports, Kaushik’s elevation reflects L’Oréal’s long-term commitment to the Indian market. In his new role, he will focus on enhancing corporate reputation, managing public affairs, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and advancing the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda.
Aseem Kaushik is a L’Oréal veteran with over 27 years at the company. He has played a pivotal role in shaping its India business.
Starting in 1995 with the Consumer Products Division, Kaushik helped establish robust field operations across the country. He later led the Professional Products Division, where he was instrumental in transforming India’s salon industry and building a sustainable growth model.
Lebel, on the other hand, brings a wealth of global experience to the position. He most recently served as Director General of L’Oréal Consumer Products in Mexico. He began his career at L’Oréal as a junior project manager and later moved to Procter & Gamble, where he led the launch of mass-channel toothpaste across more than 10 new markets. He also served as Country Director for France at AB InBev before rejoining L’Oréal.
India remains a key strategic market for L’Oréal, home to major brands such as Maybelline New York, Garnier, and L’Oréal Paris. In FY25, L’Oréal India reported a 14% growth in sales, reaching ₹5,685 crore, with net profits of ₹488 crore.
