Liberty Shoes posts Rs 800 cr revenue, eyes double-digit growth over next 2 years

Among Liberty Shoes’ diverse portfolio, Healers has emerged as one of the brand’s most significant growth drivers, reflecting the company’s focus on comfort-led innovation and consumer-centric product development. Designed to cater to the growing demand for wellness-oriented footwear, Healers has helped reinforce Liberty’s reputation as a brand that combines comfort, functionality, and style.

Founded in 1954 in Karnal, Haryana, Liberty Shoes has evolved from a single manufacturing unit into one of India’s largest and most trusted footwear companies. Over its seven-decade journey, the brand has built a formidable retail ecosystem comprising more than 500 exclusive stores, over 6,000 multi-brand outlets, and a strong omnichannel presence, making it one of the most widely accessible footwear brands in the country.

A key differentiator for Liberty is its fully integrated manufacturing model, which enables the company to produce over 60,000 pairs of footwear every day across its own facilities. This end-to-end control over manufacturing ensures superior quality management, faster speed-to-market, greater operational efficiency, and the ability to offer consumers an extensive range of sizes and fits that few competitors can match. The company’s portfolio strategy further strengthens its market position through distinct sub-brands such as Healers, Leap7x, AHA, Lucy & Luke, and others. Rather than functioning as traditional private labels, these brands are independently positioned with unique identities, target audiences, and design philosophies, allowing Liberty to cater to multiple consumer segments, occasions, and price points under a unified corporate umbrella.

Financially, Liberty continues to demonstrate strong momentum. The company reported revenues of approximately Rs 800 crore and is targeting sustained double-digit growth over the next two years. This growth is expected to be driven by new store openings, category expansion, accelerating online sales, and increasing premiumisation across the footwear market.

Categories, SKUs and Growth

Liberty Shoes remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and consumer trust, with BIS certification across all relevant product categories. For the company, certification goes beyond regulatory compliance and serves as a critical assurance of product reliability, particularly in categories such as school and children’s footwear, where safety and durability are paramount.

The brand offers a comprehensive footwear portfolio across men’s, women’s, and kids’ segments, spanning sports, casual, formal, school, and ethnic categories. Backed by a diverse portfolio of sub-brands, Liberty currently offers more than 15,000 SKUs, enabling it to cater to a wide range of consumer preferences and usage occasions. Among the fastest-growing categories are athleisure footwear, performance-casual hybrids, sustainable product lines, and premium kids’ footwear. The company is also witnessing strong momentum in the women’s comfort-fashion segment and is actively expanding the category through new designs, broader size options, and increased floor space across key retail locations.

Our formal, casual, and party-wear collections, particularly under Healers and Leap7x, continue to be among our strongest-performing categories, driven by high repeat purchases and widespread retail availability,” says Anupam Bansal, Executive Director, Liberty Shoes Ltd. “The breadth of our assortment reflects Liberty’s unique width-range philosophy. We offer multiple fits within styles, not just multiple sizes; which allows us to address the diverse foot morphology of Indian consumers and deliver a superior fit experience that differentiates us in the marketplace.”

Market Presence

  • Pan India presence
  • 500 EBOs
  • 6,000 + MBOs
  • Major e-commerce platforms
  • Export to over 25 countries across Europe, Middle East, Africa and America

The Omnichannel Way

Liberty Shoes has built a strong omnichannel retail ecosystem, with its extensive physical store network continuing to serve as the foundation of its distribution strategy, while its digital channels—including the brand’s own e-commerce platform and leading online marketplaces—are witnessing rapid growth. The company views both channels as equally important, with each playing a distinct role in the consumer journey. Physical stores enable product discovery, fit validation, and trust-building, whereas online platforms offer greater convenience, wider reach, and facilitate repeat purchases. Together, these channels create a seamless and integrated shopping experience that caters to evolving consumer preferences across touchpoints.

Their omnichannel strategy is built on three pillars:

  • Unified inventory visibility so customers always see accurate stock across channels.
  • Consistent pricing and promotions that eliminate channel arbitrage.
  • Shared Step Up Club loyalty programme that rewards customers regardless of where they shop.

“We are integrating our POS and digital platforms to enable buy-online-pick-up-in-store, cross-channel returns, and real-time local stock checks. The goal is that a Liberty customer should never feel the friction of switching channels the experience should feel like one brand, not multiple storefronts,” explains Bansal.

Digital Platforms, Better Experiences

Liberty’s audience spans the entire family from school-going children to working professionals and senior citizens united by the pursuit of quality footwear at honest prices.

“Liberty’s digital platforms serve both as transactional channels and as brand storytelling spaces featuring editorial content, style guides, and behind-the-scenes manufacturing stories that reinforce our heritage. We use data from digital platforms to inform product decisions and target consumers with personalised recommendations and relevant offers. We drive loyalty through our Step Up Club programme, exclusive member offers, and a consistent after-sales service experience that builds long-term trust,” highlights Bansal.

The Tech Front

The three most impactful technologies  adopted by Liberty to improve availability, reduce waste, and enhance the customer experience online are:

  • An integrated system for supply chain and inventory management
  • AI-assisted demand forecasting for seasonal planning
  • Unified digital commerce platform connecting the D2C site with marketplace listings.

Growth Trajectory and Brand-Led Expansion

Additionally, rising brand awareness and growing consumption in Tier 2 and 3 cities are expected to serve as important catalysts for the next phase of Liberty’s expansion journey.

“Our vision is to double down on being India’s most trusted family footwear brand while modernising every aspect of the consumer experience. Internationally, Liberty is strengthening its presence in the Middle East, Africa, and select European markets through distribution partnerships. Domestically, the Northeast, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh represent our next wave of physical retail expansion,” concludes Bansal.
