H&M brings a fresh vision for spring with SS’26 collection

H&M has launched its Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear collection in India, and it’s arriving with a distinct mood: playful, provocative, and firmly rooted in the kind of cultural nostalgia that feels less like looking back and more like raiding the best wardrobes across four decades.

The collection pulls freely from the 80s through to the early 2000s, threading Indie Sleaze references and “chic Silverlake girl” energy through a range that spans opulent embroidery, sculptural suiting, and modern athleisure.

“I loved building the universe of the S/S 2026 collection: it’s sensual, sharp, fluid, provocative and refined. We  had so many amazing references on our mood board, from chic Silverlake girls to 2010 trends and Indie Sleaze  staples,” said Eliana Masgalos, Womenswear Design Director at H&M.

The result is a collection built around contrast. Exaggerated volumes sit alongside fluid silhouettes; sharp tailoring meets soft, semi-sheer fabrication; jet-set glamour is undercut with gritty urban energy. Standout pieces include scarf-detail tops, skirts layered over trousers, sculptural asymmetric bandeau tops, and curved-front jackets finished with decorative buttons. Linen-blend suiting adds a thread of sophisticated, modern elegance throughout.

Craft and tactility are central to the collection’s identity. Rich embroideries and bold crochets appear across fringed tops, semi-sheer gowns, vests, and intricately detailed blouses. These are grounded by mid-wash denim and minimal leather pieces — cropped jackets with graphic lines, anoraks, and Bermuda shorts — keeping the overall feel wearable rather than purely editorial.

Accessories lean into the collection’s sensory world. Jewellery is sculptural, with shell motifs on necklaces and earrings, oversized bangles in metal and wood, and a range of statement pendants. Bags include a shell-encrusted mini handbag and a metal shell-shaped bag with a tassel detail. Footwear ranges from strappy and thong sandals — flat or with sculptural curved wedge heels.

The palette runs from sandy beige and cool white to classic black, with red accents punctuating the range — a combination that balances sun-drenched ease with high-glamour finish.

The S/S 2026 womenswear collection is available now in H&M stores across India, on hm.com, Myntra, and Nykaa Fashion, with prices starting at Rs 999.
