Benetton India MD & CEO Ramprasad Sridharan steps down

Benetton India today announced that Ramprasad  Sridharan, MD & CEO of Benetton India, will be moving on from the company to pursue a new professional opportunity. He will continue to lead the business during the transition period to ensure continuity and stability while the company finalises its succession plan. 

During his ongoing visit to India, Claudio Sforza, CEO of Benetton Group, reiterated the company’s strong commitment to the Indian market. He expressed gratitude to Sridharan for his valuable leadership spanning 4 years, under which the brand has expanded its presence and strengthened its consumer connect, and wished him success in his future endeavours. 

Commenting on Sridharan’s exit, Sforza said, “India has been a key market to  Benetton’s growth journey, and it will continue to remain a priority market for us. With our strong brand presence and continued consumer trust, we see clear opportunities for growth and will remain focused on building the business in a consistent and sustainable manner.”

Benetton India currently operates close to 300 standalone stores across India through both company-owned and franchise formats. In addition, the brand  retails through more than 1,000 offline and online touchpoints nationwide. Expansion continues in line with Benetton India’s growth strategy, reinforcing  India’s role as a key market for the brand globally.

Ramprasad Sridharan’s Career Snapshot

A seasoned retail and footwear industry leader, Sridharan has over two decades of experience across global and Indian markets. Before joining Benetton in June 2021, he spent more than a decade with Clarks, where he rose to become President, South East Asia, Australia & New Zealand, after holding senior roles in marketing, digital, strategy, and channel development across APAC and the UK.

Earlier, he served as CEO of Clarks India (2010–2016), and before that, as CEO of Lerros Fashions India Ltd (2008–2010). His career began with Reebok India Co., where he worked for nearly nine years and eventually became Director – Sales & Retail.
