Nikhil Singh moves on from Bata, joins Beverly Hills Polo Club Lifestyle Global as COO – India

The India business of the iconic lifestyle label Beverly Hills Polo Club has appointed Nikhil Singh as Chief Operating Officer (COO) – India.

Singh brings 15+ years of retail leadership across operations, merchandising, P&L management, franchise ecosystems, and store network scale. His most recent assignment was with Bata India Limited, where he led Retail Operational Excellence & Growth, with accountability for:

  • A 1,900+ store portfolio across COCO & franchise formats
  • ₹2,900 crore+ retail topline
  • ₹500 crore+ annual retail real-estate portfolio spend
  • Strategic alignment of landlord & franchise partner networks
  • Store productivity & cost-to-sales optimisation frameworks
  • Deployment of AI and AR-led interventions in visual merchandising, store training, and ordering workflows
  • Introduction of data-led dashboards for sales insights and season planning
  • Scaling of high-frequency retail adjacencies and partner-led growth engines

Earlier, he held business accountability across:

  • Head – EBO Business (North) at Benetton India, managing a major share of offline revenue via 250+ exclusive & franchise stores, driving budget planning, sell-outs, discount governance, and new store additions.
  • Business Head – Distribution, Accessories & Licensee Channels at House of Anita Dongre Limited, owning channel P&Ls with a focus on product grids, store-level merchandising, partner onboarding, and multi-channel retail.
  • Zonal Retail Operations – West at PUMA Group, handling franchise store relationships and sell-through planning.

A postgraduate from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi, Singh holds a Master of Fashion Management (Retail Management) and began his career in sales, buying and franchise operations, developing a POS-driven mindset for profitable retail deployment.

BHPC India Market Presence

The brand is currently expanding in India across:

  • Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) in large retail markets
  • Franchise stores (FOFO expansion model) for Tier-2 & 3 scale
  • Shop-in-Shop (SIS) counters in major Indian malls & retail anchors
  • Licensed verticals including leather accessories, watches & fragrances
  • Online marketplaces for India-wide retail availability

In India, BHPC plays in the premium mass lifestyle retail segment, where store productivity, impulse retail, and franchise unit economics are critical growth metrics. The brand has been increasing retail footprint through franchise onboarding, and strengthening occasion-led categories like fragrances & small leather goods to reach younger customer cohorts.

Singh will lead retail operations, franchise productivity, store network planning and category-led channel scale for BHPC India.
