AstorMueller ramps up India expansion, targets 50% growth, export plans

Having sold over 7 million pairs of shoes through 15,000+ retail points, the company’s entry into the Indian market marks not just an expansion, but a bold evolution in their journey.

European Craftsmanship Meets Indian Aspirations

AstorMueller debuted in India in April 2023 with the launch of bugatti and TT.BAGATT at Select CityWalk, Delhi and in Indore. In one year, it has built a presence across India’s top cities through EBOs, departmental stores like Shoppers Stop, and MBOs including Regal, Inc5, and Blue Club.

Online, the company leverages its dedicated webstores (www.bugattishoes.in and tt.bagatt.in) and top-tier marketplaces like Ajio Luxe, TataCliq Luxury, and Myntra, for nationwide reach. The company has now formed nuvora—an Indian joint venture conceived as a house of brands.

Product Portfolio

With 450+ SKUs under bugatti and 300+ under TT.BAGATT each season, the brand offers everything from formal shoes and heels to mules, platforms, boots, and fashion sneakers—the latter being their fastest-growing category. Accessories like handbags, belts, wallets, and shoe care products complement the core offerings, allowing for complete fashion statements.

Interestingly, Indian market feedback has reshaped their portfolio. As a European brand, its open footwear range was initially limited, but consumer insights from India led them to recalibrate and today, it’s one of their fastest-growing categories.

Rooted in Innovation & Technology

Every product reflects European craftsmanship supported by state-of-the-art development centers and international trends adapted for Indian sensibilities. Material selection is rigorous with only ethically sourced, high-quality materials chosen. Training and stringent QC protocols ensure consistency and satisfaction, with every shoe checked before leaving the factory.

Strategic Multi-Channel Play

With over 75 PoS across India, AstorMueller’s omnichannel strategy aims to integrate online and offline seamlessly—offering store pickups for online orders, for instance, to resolve fit and sizing issues. Their influencer-led marketing strategy is equally aggressive, with over 2,00,000 followers across Instagram and Facebook. Malls too remain critical touchpoints too, offering high-visibility branding.

A Roadmap for Rapid Expansion

AstorMueller has ambitious plans to be in the top 25-30 cities in India by the end of this fiscal. Around 20-25 new bugatti stores are planned in metros, state capitals and Tier 2 cities. India will also serve as a manufacturing and export base for other South Asian markets for the company. The company plans to grow by over 50% compared to 2024. At present, the revenue is evenly split between bugatti and TT.BAGATT.

Looking Ahead

Despite macroeconomic uncertainties and global tariff threats, India remains a bright spot with its consumer-driven economy and aspirational youth fueling future growth. Initiatives like Make in India and BIS norms are being seen as tailwinds for growth and export potential.
