Ajmal expands India retail footprint with Shoppers Stop partnership

Ajmal, a 75-year-old fragrance company, has entered into a retail partnership with Shoppers Stop, making its perfumes available across select locations of the lifestyle and fashion retailer nationwide.

The Dubai-based brand, known for its vertically integrated “farm-to-fragrance” model — from cultivating raw ingredients to finished perfumes — has built its reputation around oud-based fragrances rooted in the legacy of founder Haji Ajmal Ali. The company currently operates in over 60 countries with 350+ exclusive showrooms.

“We are delighted to join hands with Shoppers Stop, a brand that resonates with our vision of excellence and customer-centric retailing,” said Abdulla Ajmal, CEO of Ajmal Group, and the third-generation steward of the Ajmal legacy. This collaboration not only reinforces our commitment to growth in India but also enhances the way fragrance lovers across the country can discover and engage with our portfolio.”

Rajiv Suri, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shoppers Stop Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Ajmal brings a unique heritage and a rich, sensory journey to our customers. Their excellent premium selection compliments our chosen scent range, demonstrating our ongoing dedication to providing various and meaningful options for our customers.”

Ajmal already sells in India through company-owned stores, multi-brand retailers and modern trade channels. The Shoppers Stop partnership adds another distribution channel as the brand looks to widen its reach in the market.
