Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited joins forces with Christian Louboutin in India

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL), India’s leading fashion powerhouse, has announced a strategic partnership with Christian Louboutin, the renowned Parisian designer celebrated for his high-end footwear and distinctive red-lacquered soles. The collaboration entails the transfer of the brand’s existing Indian business into a newly formed subsidiary of ABFRL, with both partners holding equal stakes.

Founded in 1991 in Paris, Christian Louboutin has become a global luxury icon, expanding its offerings beyond women’s and men’s footwear to include leather goods, accessories, beauty products, and a dedicated line for kids and pets. With a retail presence in over 30 countries, the brand has achieved widespread acclaim for its unique style and craftsmanship.

“We are excited to partner with ABFRL’s team and look forward to working with them to manage and develop the business in India, which is an extremely important market for us,” commented Alexis Mourot, Christian Louboutin’s Group CEO.

Christian Louboutin established his business in the heart of Paris in 1991, introducing signature red-lacquered soles that became synonymous with the brand. With a diverse collection of shoes, leather goods, and accessories, Christian Louboutin now boasts over 150 points of sale worldwide.
