The Bear House has appointed Dharmendra Singh as its new Head of Retail, bringing in a senior leader who has spent more than two decades building and running large-scale retail operations across apparel, lifestyle and wholesale formats in India.
Singh, who joined the Bengaluru-based brand this month, announced the move on LinkedIn.
From Bestseller to The Bear House
Singh comes from Bestseller India, where he spent over nine years in two leadership roles. Since April 2023, he served as National Sales Head for the ONLY brand, with full P&L responsibility across 65 Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) and 340 Shop-in-Shop (SIS) counters. The network delivered revenue of Rs 425 crore under his leadership. He managed a pan-India team of four Regional Managers and 18 Area and Cluster Managers.
In that role, he focused on omni-channel execution, standardised store SOPs, inventory management and expansion planning in partnership with marketing and planning teams, with an emphasis on EBIT growth and sell-through efficiency.
Before that, from August 2017 to April 2023, Singh was Zonal Manager at Bestseller, overseeing the North and West zones. He handled more than Rs 250 crore in revenue across 40 EBOs and 150 SIS counters for Jack & Jones, Vero Moda, ONLY and Selected, leading eight Area and Cluster Managers. His zones reported bottom-line growth for four consecutive years during that period.
A career built across formats
Singh’s path to the role runs through some of India’s most recognisable retail names. Before Bestseller, he served as Business Manager for the West Zone at Future Group India and as AGM Sales and Operations at Metro Cash and Carry. He also held the role of Manager Operations at Future Group People Office, and earlier worked as Head of Retail at Planet Sport in Jaipur.
He began his career in 1999 as a Customer Support Specialist at Shoppers Stop, before moving to Raymond as a Retail Sales Executive and then to ITC’s Wills Lifestyle as Store Manager.
What it means for The Bear House
Singh’s background across store operations, merchandising coordination, inventory control and large-team leadership positions him to oversee the brand’s physical retail network as it grows.
