Lenskart launches music-inspired Shunya collection, debuts Lenskart Live concert series

Eyewear retailer Lenskart on Wednesday launched Shunya, a 37-style collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses inspired by Indian music.

To mark the launch, Lenskart will stream five evenings of live performances by 10 artists exclusively on its app from October 8 to 12.

The concerts, titled Lenskart Live: Sounds of Shunya, will run between 7 pm and 8 pm each evening. They mark the debut of Lenskart Live, a new format the company said is designed to bring the stories behind its collections to customers through live experiences.

Shunya is available across Lenskart stores and on the app, arriving ahead of the festive season. It is part of Indian Accents, the company’s family of collections celebrating Indian culture and heritage. Lenskart is also introducing a second Indian Accents collection, Indus, which celebrates India’s ancient art of metal craftsmanship.

The collection’s designs include elements inspired by the sitar, flute and lotus, set in modern silhouettes. The name refers to the Indian concept of shunya, or zero, which the company described as the meditative space from which sound and creation emerge.

“Indian music has an incredible ability to evolve while staying connected to its roots. We see that today in the way a new generation is experiencing everything from bhajans and classical music to contemporary interpretations of traditional sounds. Shunya draws from that same spirit, translating elements of Indian music into contemporary eyewear. With Lenskart Live, we want to take the stories behind our collections beyond the frames and create experiences that people can participate in and enjoy.” said Lenskart Spokesperson.

The line-up

The series opens with the contemporary bhajan movement, represented by Backstage Siblings Prachi and Raghav Agarwal, who have pioneered a format they call “bhajan jamming” that turns devotional music into large community sing-alongs. The duo, which started in 2024, has performed more than 300 shows across over 50 cities.

Other vocalists include Arunita Kanjilal, Iham Kavyam Experience by Kavya Ajit, Anushka Gouttam and Vishwajeet Borwankar, whose sets span classical, Carnatic, acoustic, Sufi, ghazal and contemporary sounds. Mahesh Raghvan and Shravan Sridhar will present Carnatic music through electronic production and electric violin.

The instrumental line-up features Nandini Shankar on violin, Swayam on sitar, Varsh Jain on flute and Ved Prajapati on tabla.
