D2C menswear brand The Bear House is challenging the conventional way denim is made with the launch of Bear Neo, a new-generation denim collection built around its ‘1 Glass of Water’ proposition.
Bear Neo is produced using around 90% less water than conventional denim during factory production, bringing a significantly more water-efficient manufacturing process to one of the most frequently worn staples in a man’s wardrobe. The idea is simple: rethink how denim is made without asking consumers to compromise on style, comfort, durability or everyday versatility.
The Bear Neo collection spans a range of baggy, straight and contemporary fits, available across a selection of colours and washes.
“With Bear Neo, we wanted to challenge a convention that has existed in denim for years: the amount of water required to make it. By rethinking the manufacturing process, we have been able to reduce water consumption by around 90% compared to conventional denim, without compromising on the comfort, durability or design our customers expect from The Bear House. For us, innovation is about making everyday products meaningfully better and Bear Neo is an important step in that direction,” said Tanvi & Harsh Somaiya, Co-founders, The Bear House India.
As part of the initiative, The Bear House is also making the story behind the product more visible to consumers through its Environmental Passport. Accessible via a QR code on the product, the passport offers customers greater transparency into the story and environmental credentials behind their denim. This allows consumers to look beyond the finished product and understand more about how their pair has been made.
The initiative also reflects The Bear House’s belief that responsible manufacturing and contemporary fashion can coexist. By bringing water efficiency into an everyday wardrobe essential, the brand is making sustainability part of the product experience rather than positioning it as a separate category.
The launch also marks an important step in The Bear House’s broader journey towards responsible product innovation. The brand is exploring how smarter manufacturing processes, technology, materials and greater transparency can become integral to the development of everyday menswear.
