American fashion retailer Gap has opened a new store at Phoenix Marketcity in Whitefield, expanding its presence in Bengaluru’s retail market.
The new outlet, spread across more than 3,000 square feet, is located on the lower ground floor of Phoenix Marketcity Mall on Whitefield Road. It marks the latest addition to Gap’s growing network of stores across India.
The store offers a range of clothing for women, men and kids, including denim, T-shirts, khakis, logo hoodies and shirts, along with seasonal collections. The launch is part of Gap’s broader strategy to expand its footprint in India’s fashion and lifestyle sector and make its products more accessible to Indian shoppers.
Gap operates in India through Reliance Retail Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), the retail holding arm of Reliance Industries Limited. RRVL runs an omni-channel network of 20,160 stores along with digital commerce platforms spanning grocery, consumer electronics, fashion and lifestyle, and pharma. The company said it has a registered customer base of over 387 million and reported a consolidated turnover of Rs 3,70,026 crore with an EBITDA of Rs 27,033 crore for the year ended March 31, 2026.
Gap was founded in San Francisco in 1969 and has since grown into a global lifestyle brand with offerings including GapKids, babyGap, Gap Maternity, GapBody, GapFit, Gap Accessories and Gap Beauty, along with GapStudio and collaborations under GapX. The company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker GAP, sells through company-operated and franchise stores worldwide, as well as online.
