Indian workwear brand Office & You (O&Y) has opened its second store at DLF Midtown Plaza in Moti Nagar, Delhi, marking the label’s continued expansion in the National Capital Region. The Delhi store follows O&Y’s debut outlet in Noida, and reflects the brand’s push to grow its physical retail footprint.
According to Varija Bajaj, Founder & Creative Head, Office & You, the next chapter of women’s workwear in India is about moving beyond imitation. “Why should workwear for Indian women always have to come with a Western reference point? We don’t live the same lives, we don’t have the same weather, and we don’t work in the same environments.”
“An Indian woman can be in a boardroom in the morning, at a school, hospital or client meeting in the afternoon and somewhere culturally sensitive by evening. Her wardrobe needs to move with her.” Bajaj believes the future of workwear lies not in prescribing what a professional woman should wear, but in giving her enough choices to define professionalism on her own terms.
Office & You builds its designs around research into Indian body shapes, skin tones and cultural context, positioning itself against fast fashion in favour of what the brand calls “empowering fashion” with an emphasis on timeless, versatile pieces.
Bajaj also leads three other labels: LELA, a bohemian-inspired fusion pret line; Varija Design Studio, focused on bridal and occasion wear; and BSOUL, a home fragrance brand that extends the same design sensibility into everyday living spaces.
With the Delhi opening, O&Y now operates two stores — in Noida and Delhi — as part of what the company describes as an effort to build a distinct category around Indian workwear.
