Global lifestyle and performance footwear brand Skechers has crossed the milestone of 450 retail stores in India. The latest achievement comes just over a year after the brand crossed the 400-store mark, underscoring the pace at which it has expanded its presence across metros, Tier II and Tier III cities.
Owned by California-headquartered Skechers U.S.A., the brand entered India in 2012 through its wholly owned subsidiary, Skechers South Asia Pvt. Ltd. Over the years, India has emerged as a strategic growth market for the company, supported by rising demand for athleisure, comfort footwear and performance products.
The company operates a mix of company-owned and franchise stores across shopping malls, high streets and airport locations, complemented by an omnichannel strategy that includes its direct-to-consumer website as well as leading online marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, Tata CLiQ and Nykaa Fashion.
Skechers’ India retail network has expanded rapidly in recent years, with new stores opening across key urban centres and emerging retail markets. Recent additions have included locations in Delhi NCR, Kozhikode, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai reflecting the company’s focus on increasing accessibility and strengthening its offline footprint.
The brand offers an extensive portfolio spanning lifestyle sneakers, running, walking, training and basketball footwear, alongside collections for men, women and children. Its product range also includes athleisure apparel and accessories, with proprietary comfort technologies such as Hands Free Slip-ins, Arch Fit, Max Cushioning, GO WALK and Skechers Performance continuing to drive consumer demand.
Skechers South Asia is led by Rahul Vira, Chief Executive Officer, who has spearheaded the brand’s expansion in the Indian market.
India forms a key part of Skechers’ broader global retail strategy. Worldwide, the company operates more than 5,000 Skechers-branded stores across over 120 countries.
