Myntra brings Desigual apparel line to India, expanding beyond accessories

Myntra has launched Barcelona-based fashion brand Desigual’s apparel collection in India. The launch follows the introduction of accessories, handbags and backpacks last year, marking the next phase of Desigual’s expansion in India.

The newly launched apparel collection spans across the brand’s hero categories of dresses, denim and jackets, with 90 styles that reflect Desigual’s signature codes across joyful silhouettes, statement denim, expressive outerwear and graphic knitwear.

Founded in Barcelona in 1984, Desigual has built a global identity around creativity, colour and self-expression. True to its name, which means ‘not the same,’ the brand is known for vibrant colours, artistic prints, patchwork details and asymmetrical silhouettes, appealing to millennials and Gen Z shoppers seeking expressive global styles. Positioned in the accessible luxury space, Desigual fills the gap between mainstream fashion and ultra-luxury labels, offering a differentiated proposition that is bold, aspirational and visually distinctive.

Speaking on the launch, Venu Nair, Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Omnichannel, Myntra, said, “The encouraging response to Desigual’s accessories on our platform demonstrates the Indian consumer’s growing appetite for design-led international fashion. India has emerged as one of the world’s most dynamic fashion markets, and Myntra is uniquely positioned to enable iconic global brands like Desigual to tap into this massive opportunity and strategically scale their presence. The expansion into the brand’s apparel collection reinforces our commitment to scaling international brands in India, leveraging our deep market insights and extensive reach to build discovery, aspiration, and long-term growth across the country.”

Through its association with Myntra, Desigual aims to build brand awareness and connect with India’s digitally native fashion audience, the company said. Seasonal drops are planned for the year to add greater depth and versatality to Desigual’s India offerings.

The launch comes as international brands on Myntra continue to see traction across a wider consumer base, with Tier 2 cities contributing 45% of demand. This reflects the growing pull of premium global fashion beyond metros, as shoppers look for brands with strong identity, design distinction and accessible price points. Myntra’s 500+ international brand portfolio continues to serve this evolving demand across premium and trend-led fashion.

Desigual is currently present in 103 countries through 10 sales channels, 242 single-brand stores and five product categories: Women, Men, Kids, Accessories and Shoes.
