Amazon uses AI to shake up spring fashion shopping in India

Amazon Fashion and Beauty is leaning into artificial intelligence to help shoppers navigate its Spring Summer 2026 collection, rolling out tools that let customers find outfits through conversation, photos, and price tracking.

The collection spans over one lakh styles from more than 200 brands — including Nike, Rare Rabbit, GAP, Levi’s, Ray-Ban, Guess, Puma, and Minimalist — with discounts of up to 50% and an additional 5% off via exclusive coupons. Curated edits such as Summer of Love, Indie Summer, Beach Dream, and Heritage Getaway anchor the seasonal offering.

At the centre of the discovery push is Rufus, Amazon’s AI shopping assistant. Shoppers can ask it conversational queries — “Spring brunch look under INR 3,000” or “Best pastel co-ord sets for women” — and receive personalised picks in return. Rufus now also tracks 30- to 90-day price history, letting customers check whether an item is at its lowest price. Users can set automated purchase triggers, such as “Buy this dress when it’s 30% off” or “Purchase this t-shirt when it hits INR 600,” with Rufus completing the transaction through a default payment method once the condition is met.

For visual shoppers, Amazon Lens AI allows users to upload or photograph an outfit — a floral maxi dress, a pastel co-ord set — and instantly surface similar products available on the platform. Other features include Virtual Try-On for colour cosmetics, brand-specific size charts, and a “Wear It With” tool that pairs a chosen apparel item with complementary footwear, bags, watches, and beauty products to build complete looks.

The seasonal edit highlights five style directions: light layers in fresh hues, statement accessories, sneakers as a style anchor, everyday fine jewellery, and fragrance layering.
