TechnoSport marks strategic entry into Odisha; debuts EBO in Rourkela

TechnoSport, India’s fastest-growing activewear brand, has announced the launch of its first Exclusive Brand Outlet (EBO) in Odisha, at the Plutone Mall, Rourkela. Spread across 3,419 sq. ft. on the 2nd  Floor, the new store marks a key milestone in the brand’s ongoing retail expansion journey, as it continues to strengthen its offline presence across emerging Indian markets.

With the Rourkela EBO opening, TechnoSport’s national network expands to 35+ stores signifying a strong push into Tier-2 and emerging industrial cities as part of its nationwide expansion strategy. The EBO-led model enables stronger brand visibility, improved consumer experience, and sharper control over merchandising and margins, making it central to the company’s offline growth roadmap.

Reinforcing its long-term commitment to the state, TechnoSport had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha last year, announcing a Rs 100 crore investment to set up a state-of-the-art activewear manufacturing facility. The upcoming unit, which will be part of a world-class industrial estate, is expected to generate employment for over 1,000 workers, contributing to the region’s industrial and economic development.

The region also holds strategic relevance from a manufacturing perspective. Odisha is widely regarded as one of India’s most skilled destinations for stitching and sewing talent, with a workforce deeply aligned to sportswear production. The availability of a skilled workforce, particularly women workers in apparel manufacturing, alongside supportive industrial infrastructure, makes the state a natural fit for TechnoSport’s long-term production and supply chain strategy.

Speaking on the launch, Puspen Maity, CEO, TechnoSport, said, “The launch of our Exclusive Brand Outlet in Rourkela marks an important step in strengthening TechnoSport’s presence across high-potential Tier-2 and industrial markets. Odisha has consistently been one of our strongest regions, backed by high consumer brand recall and deep general trade strength. This store allows us to build closer engagement with the market while expanding our organized retail footprint in East India.

The Rourkela outlet showcases TechnoSport’s latest performance and athleisure collections designed for everyday training and all-day comfort. Given the warm and humid climate the assortment includes lightweight quick-dry training T-shirts, breathable polos, stretch joggers, shorts, in fresh seasonal colours, alongside upgraded fabric technologies featuring anti-odour and enhanced durability attributes.

Looking ahead, TechnoSport is on target to expand to 50 EBOs across India by the end of the financial year and continue its cluster-based expansion across high-growth Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Within Odisha, the outlook is to strengthen presence across Bhubaneswar, followed by cities such as Cuttack, Berhampur, and Sambalpur as part of its regional scale-up strategy.
