In a major boost to India’s manufacturing ambitions, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, virtually inaugurated Welspun Home Solutions Limited’s new terry towel manufacturing facility in Gujarat. With this launch, Welspun Living now operates the world’s largest towel manufacturing facility under a single roof, further cementing Gujarat’s position as a global textile manufacturing hub.
The state-of-the-art facility will generate over 3,000 direct and 10,000 indirect employment opportunities, taking the total workforce at Welspun’s Anjar campus to nearly 30,000 employees. Notably, the foundation stone for the plant was laid by the Chief Minister in December last year, and the project has been completed in a record 12 months, highlighting both Gujarat’s robust industrial ecosystem and Welspun’s execution capabilities.
The new facility significantly strengthens Welspun’s leadership in the global home textiles sector, offering a diverse product range supported by advanced manufacturing technologies.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel said, “The contribution of local companies like Welspun is very important for a self-reliant India. Welspun Group has been working in Gujarat since 2004 and is actively contributing to the initiatives of the Government of India like Make in India, Make for the World, Local to Global and has been helping in creating local employment and is pioneering inclusive growth. The Welspun Group has achieved the feat of preparing this plant in a short period of just 12 months, which is in line with the ‘do what you say’ style of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi. Let us imbibe the mantra of support for all, development for all, trust for all, efforts for all.”
