Adidas has named Vijay Chauhan as the new General Manager of Adidas India, effective August 1, 2025. Chauhan will oversee the brand’s operations in India and will be based at the Gurugram office.
He succeeds Neelendra Singh, who is stepping down after more than 20 years with the company. Singh played a key role in shaping Adidas’ India strategy over the last six years, driving strong business growth and successfully positioning cricket as a high-impact category for the brand.
Chauhan returns to Adidas after serving as SVP International at American Eagle Outfitters in New York. A seasoned industry veteran with over 25 years of experience in sporting goods and fashion retail, Chauhan originally joined Adidas in 1999. Over the years, he has held various leadership roles, including VP of Retail/Franchise for SEAPAC and General Manager of Adidas Thailand.
“We’re grateful to Neel for his strong leadership of the India business over the past six years, during which he significantly strengthened Adidas’ brand presence, accelerated business growth, and deepened our connection with consumers across India,” said Dave Thomas, Managing Director adidas Emerging Markets.
“We also look forward to welcoming Chauhan back to the three stripes. With his strong commercial acumen and growth mindset, I’m confident he will continue to drive the adidas brand and business forward in India,” Thomas added.
Singh will continue in his role through July to ensure a smooth transition.
